In the Spring of 2009, we were looking to go on summer vacation. Liberty Travel gave us a chance to go to Phoenix, Arizona. When we made plans to go to the Grand Canyon, I figured, it'd be a grand occasion to make a grand announcement. I deiced that's when I'd make the move. I prepared a speech in Creole and played out the whole scene and how I'd get one one knee at sunset. On June 9, our trip commenced and my mission for the day was not to drop the ring into the Canyon. When sunset finally came, I became so welled up with emotion that I not only forgot the speech in Creole, but I forgot it in English as well. I could only muster the cliched, "Will you make me the happiest man in the world and do me the honor of being my wife?" Glady, she accepted.
